When DJs Lumin and Kems got the opportunity to do an all vinyl internet radio show, they got in touch with me to design a logo and digital promo materials. The music was going to be an eclectic mix of funk, jazz, hip hop, soul, disco, and rare records. They chose Above the Clouds as the show’s title.
I wanted to capture the vibe of small record label logos from back in the day, primarily the DIY, handmade aspects. I researched logos on the records in my own collection and checked out some images online. The result is definitely a one-of-a-kind mark, just like the show and the hosts.
